The weather in Virginia has been off the wall lately, with temperatures well into the 70's. It appears that this will last well into next week! I have been checking the extended forecast for Southern France from Chalon to Avignon, and right now they are calling for temperatures in the mid 60's to lower 70's for the first week we are there.
If that holds true, and given that a lot of trees and bushes here are blooming, I would suspect that our cruise should be quite nice! We have received our travel documents, and we are flying into Brussels with a four hour layover, and then fly into Marseille. From there it is about a 1.5 hour bus ride to the boat in Avignon. We anticipate arriving at the boat around 3:30pm.
We should feel right at home on the Europe, as she is a sister ship to the Spirit which we have cruised on twice now. Friends of ours did this cruise last November and said the crew was great, so we are looking forward to meeting them.
At least packing should be relatively easy given the weather reports. At least we should not need any heavy clothing which takes up so much room.
That is about all for now, and will post again just before departing. I will attempt to post daily along with at least one picture while cruising, but of course it all depends on the internet connection.
